Finishing this last blog today means it is one less thing that I have to worry about now for Technology class. There is still alot of projects to be completed which will become harder to do with the weather finally starting to get nice and summer break approaching. I still have not started my efolio, which is only due in a month, but the deadline will be here pretty fast. I might actually to get it started this weekend, hopefully.
Well, this is it, the final blog!

Preparing for our backpacking trip
Today in Outdoor Pursuits, we had a somewhat boring class. Usually we do some fun activities such as ice breaker activities or initiative games or rock climbing. Today we learned about what type of clothes to wear for our upcoming backpacking trip. We also learned about hypothermia and ways to take care of people that get it. Hopefully next class will be a little more interesting and we won't have to sit so long.

Guest Speaker
Yesterday in Health Foundations class we had a guest speaker. She came to talk about smoking and the effects of it. She brought in pig lungs that are identical to human lungs. One set of lungs were healthy and one set was what a set of smoker's lungs would look like. It was neat to see what the lungs looked like when they didn't have air in them and then she blew them up with air. I was surprised how big they actually were when inflated. Another visual the guest speaker had was how much tar enters the body and lungs in a month and in a year. Another interesting fact that I learned about smoker's lungs were that if the lungs are not permently damaged and if the person stops smoking after about 10 years their lungs become healthy again.

Back to school work
I had a great spring break. I spent some time down in South Carolina with my sister, but when I was there it was only in the 30s and 40s and on the last day it snowed there. The next couple of days after I left it was supposed to get up into the 70s and 80s. Oh well, it was still a good time. Now I sit here at my computer thinking of all the projects that I need to get done for this class and all of my other classes. There is so much to get done, and there are no more breaks until summer, not even a day off for Easter.

Spring Break
Thanks to not having technology class today, my spring break has started early! We had a midterm in Outdoor Pursuits class at 9:30 and I was able to leave right after that. Around 4pm today I'm starting my long drive to visit my sister in Charleston South Carolina. The drive is going to take about 12 to 13 hours. Were planning on going to the beach and just hanging out and relaxing in the warmth!

Climbing Wall
Yesterday in Outdoor Pursuits class we went down to the ARC to use the climbing wall. First we went over the safety of everything again and then split up into our groups. One person for the group climbed, one was a belayer, one was a back-up belayer, and the other filled out a peer assessment form. We were only allowed to climb about 6 feet off of the ground so we could get the feel of it and become comfortable doing it. Another reason we only went about 6 feet off the ground was for safety. This also allowed the belayer to be comfortable doing what they had to do. I thought it was fun and I'm excited to go back to the wall with the class after spring break.

Efolio
Working on my Efolio for Tech class is going to drive me nuts. Why? Probably because I am a procrastinator. Usually I work well under pressure but not for this big of a project. I will definatly have to make a schedule or somthing and make sure I follow it. I will probably have to make sure my roommate keeps bugging me about it to make sure I get it done.

Outdoor Pursuits
Hey everyone,
Currently in my Outdoor Pursuits class, we are learning about rock climbing. We are learning different knots to tie such as the figure eight follow through, figure eight with a bite, and a double figure eight with a bite. We learned how to belay by using caribeaners and belaying devices. We also learned several commands to use while climbing such as tension, slack, rock, falling, etc. On Tuesday we get to go to the climbing wall at the ARC and test our skills.
